Indian Fast Food in Town

A new (and only) fast food restaurant serving pretty good Indian food opened recently in town.  It's called Neehee's and proclaims to serve Indian street food.  It is located in a strip mall that is fast becoming a Little India of sorts.  There is already a Bombay Grocers as well as an Indian takeout joint nearby that we haven't tried yet.  It reminds me of Komola's Restaurant back in Singapore, also a fast food place.  Komola's also has a more upscale version (Komola Villa) that serves really, really good traditional Indian vegetarian meals, my first experience with such cuisine.

So far, we've tried Neehee's Pani Puri (puffed puries (puffed pastry?) filled with potato mixture and spicy tangy water), Idly Chaat (fried idly (potato chunks?) with chutneys, yogurt), Dabeli Dosa wrap (dabeli stuffing mixed with ground nuts and onions cut into pieces), Masala Dosa (a plain dosa with masala chutney on the side), Methi Gota (fresh leaves mixed with besan and spices and deep fried) and of course, Mango Lassi.  No prata though, sigh.

Looking forward to going down their extensive menu.  :-)

  3. the commercial frozen prata i've tried here is the not cooked type. So gotta actually put on pan and wait for one side to cook, then flip over etc etc!
