My First Football Game
Last Saturday, I went to my first US football game. No lah! Not our Singapore football/soccer. American Football! This was my first game since I got here in 2000.
Free ticket, ride and dinner from my boss along with his guests: staff, faculty and department board members.
More than 100,000 people in the stadium watched our University of Michigan Wolverines play against the Iowa Hawkeyes. The energy and volume of cheering was incredible! Our team beat Iowa 20-6.
It was really, really tiring though. Slept almost all the way until noon on Sunday.

Morning Spam, Evening Spam
I get spam in my email in the morning, before work. And spam email in the evening, after 5pm.
So is it just me? Or maybe spamming is a part-time job for these buggers with 8-5 jobs?

Exam Also Can Get Lost?!
I saw this student rushing up and down the hallway on my way back from a meeting. Since he looked very panicked, I asked him if he needed any help. He needed to get to one of the other engineering buildings. And he told me that he was on his way to an exam.
How can you not find out ahead of time the venue of your exam?! Especially if you're a blur sotong newbie! When NUS exams were held at the World Trade Center or IMM, I even did a bit of reconnaissance in the one week break before the exams.

First Snow
I just had my first snow of the season (i.e. not counting Jan/Feb/Mar) this afternoon. And it was going sideways due to very, very strong winds. It lasted all of 20 minutes and was gone with the afternoon's sun within an hour.
No. I didn't take a photo since A) I changed to Jia Nin's old Blackberry, which has no camera, to see if I like it B) I was doing tech support for a big meeting, i.e. work.
Time to bring the more heavily insulated jackets and coats out from the closet.

Why No Watch Phones Yet?
Watch phone = wrist watch that contains a phone.
I don't wear watches anymore. Since I always carry a cell phone, why bother with a watch when I can tell time from the phone.
But carrying that phone is a pain. Right pocket has a wallet, left pocket has keys. Putting a phone in either of those pockets either creates a bulge or scratches the phone. Back pockets risk sitting on and crushing the phone. The phone holster keeps getting caught on things and comes loose from my belt. Shirt pocket is no good since the phone slides out when I lean over, and a heavy phone skews the shirt to one side.
So my question still is: "Why no watch phones yet?" The Motorola Razr or Nokia 6103 are so compact, why not put it on a wrist strap?
