Singapore is 14th Most Expensive City
http://www.citymayors.com/features/cost_survey.html
"...the cost of international-standard accommodation has pushed some cities up the ranking. For example, sharp increases in house prices have contributed to Singapore climbing from 17th to 14th position."
I'd say that is one competition that Singapore would not want to be No. 1!

Grandma's Fried Instant Noodles

I know the photo is out of focus. But hungry mah!
Grandma used to fry this on the weekends we visit.
Boil water, cook 2 packs of instant noodles until about 90% done. Drain well.
Heat up a pan, add a bit of oil and fry 3 eggs. Scramble. Plate when cooked.
Add a bit more oil and stir fry a handful of shrimp and shredded cabbage.
When shrimp is cooked, put eggs and noodles back into the pan. Keep the contents moving and add oyster sauce and chilli sauce.
Serve when moisture is almost gone (no more big puffs of steam). Yum!

Speed vs. Fuel Consumption
When I was driving at 80 mph (~130kph), my Honda CR-V consumed half a tank of gas in about 2 hours. My gas tank capacity is about 15 gal (~57 l), that meant my fuel consumption is about 21 miles per gallon (mpg ~ 112 ml/km).
On a long quiet stretch, I went up to 90 mph (~145kph). I went through the same 1/2 tank in about 1 hour 15 min. That's 15 mpg! A full 6 mpg drop!
Sure, I'm going faster, but I'm also wasting more time and money topping up my gas tank (10-15 min) more often, every 2 1/2 hours instead of every 4 hours. Not to mention tempting fate and highway patrol. Sigh.
